Ulad validated and deployed these improvements across devnet, testnet, and mainnet, where nodes now establish 3 streams within minutes of a rolling upgrade versus roughly 10 minutes before. Aaron added spread costs and taker fees to backtesting, improved profit and loss attribution with separate impermanent loss, realized/unrealized, and principal/fees breakdowns, and uploaded automated backtest log to Google Storage so interrupted runs are preserved. Q4 Team Progress

In Q4, Harmony completed the 1.10 mainnet release, which included EVM improvements and reliability fixes. A primary technical milestone was the preparation of Stream Sync for mainnet deployment, following revisions to peer selection, error handling, and synchronization logic. These updates align the protocol’s architecture more closely with upstream Ethereum development.

In tandem, the team updated infrastructure for operations and on-chain strategy. This initiative included developing tools for liquidity analysis, hedging, and copy-trading, alongside the integration of wallet-level analytics and refined performance metrics.

2026 Focus

In Q1 2026, work will focus on the Stream Sync mainnet rollout and stability improvements ahead of a scheduled network upgrade. The roadmap includes further EVM compatibility work and the activation of remaining protocol features. Initial testing will also begin on reduced block times to increase network throughput.

Also, hedging and copy-trading tools will move from development into validation and live integration. This transition will be supported by updated analytics, observability metrics, and infrastructure refinements.

During Q4, release testing revealed that the embedded JavaScript engine (Duktape) caused node crashes under specific tracing workloads. To address this, it was replaced with the more stable Goja engine. The upgrade required updating Harmony’s internal tracers, resulting in approximately 7,000 lines of code changes along with corresponding test adjustments. I also activated transient storage (EIP-1153) and completed the rollout of the 1.10 release to mainnet.

2026 Q1 Plan:

Activate the remaining features from the 1.10 and 1.11 updates and launch the 1-second block-time configuration on testnet.

Q4 was one of my impactful quarters this year. I delivered major improvements across Harmony’s sync and core layers, while playing a central role in preparing the 2025.1.2 release which is finalized and ready for publication. This release is one of the largest in terms of code additions, and it marks a historic milestone: Stream Sync will be enabled on mainnet for the first time, a major step toward a more decentralized and resilient synchronization model for Harmony.

Throughout the quarter, I strengthened every layer of the sync pipeline. I refactored trusted peer logic, enhanced metrics, fixed race conditions, and made the peer-selection process smarter and more adaptive. Stream Sync proved its reliability and was officially promoted to the default mechanism across devnet and testnet.

A key highlight was implementing a full error-classification system for stream read/write operations. By distinguishing recoverable from critical errors, the network now avoids unnecessary stream drops due to transient conditions—an upgrade that translated directly into more stable deployments. I also delivered protocol-level improvements like EIP-3855 (PUSH0) and refactored EIP-2935 to stay aligned with upstream Ethereum changes.

Q1 2026 Plan:

During Q4, I focused heavily on reviewing and improving our infrastructure and associated costs, as I am now the primary owner of this area. This included auditing existing setups, identifying unused or outdated components, and ensuring our environments remain efficient and maintainable. In parallel, I continued supporting multiple release efforts - deploying eth 1.10 updates, trusted-node improvements, and stream-sync bundles across environments - while unblocking key work such as the Duktape→Goja migration and BEP44 support in the Harmony CLI.

A major part of my goals this quarter was enhancing our observability stack, where I delivered the new crash-logging pipeline, migrated log ingestion to journald, broadened dashboard coverage, and added visibility into trusted-node behavior. I also introduced version-monitoring automation. In parallel, I worked with the team to prepare for the stream-sync alpha release on mainnet by testing new logic, validating improvements, and documenting operational runbooks.

2026 Q1 Plan:

• Help the consensus development team with Stream Sync mainnet rollout.

• Complete the GitOps-based Grafana sync rollout, expand the crash-collection and observability stack with new metrics and stability checks, e.g. domain expiration checks.

• Improve the situation with the monitoring stack - start to use LTS versions everywhere and upgrade them as new versions arrive.

🌻 Yuriy Menkov

The primary development focus this quarter was the copy-trading bot. First build was a basic version that replicated position openings and closings, and then an advanced version capable of copying staking actions and operating through a smart contract. The smart contract enables efficient batching of multiple actions such as, opening a position, approving a token, and staking into a single transaction. We also conducted research and optimization to ensure the bot operates reliably with flash blocks and accelerated event processing, resulting in the ability to react to target-strategy events within the same block.

A large amount of statistical data was also collected from various wallets as well during the testing of the copy-trading bot. Together, the team performed an in-depth analysis and refined our understanding of the optimal wallet for copy — specifically, the parameters related to position duration and the amount of capital managed by a wallet. At this stage, we have identified a target wallet to copy, currently demonstrating a positive APR of 120%.

A statistical analysis identified a set of parameters for filtering wallets suitable for copy-trading: median position duration of 10–100 blocks, deposit size no greater than 5% of the pool’s liquidity, and an APR above 50%. Several wallets matching these criteria have now been found — we are currently using one with an annual APR of 150%. Additional tools were also added to compare wallet operations in real time.

Q1 2026 Plan:

Add hedging functionality to the copy-trading bot and integrate it with a hedging-analytics service to enable real-time long and short position generation. Expand the collection of hedging-related statistical data to develop a more robust and profitable strategy.

Community & Development

🍓 Rikako Hatoya

During Q4 2025, I focused on extensive wallet transaction analysis while also maintaining an organized Google Drive structure for all LP analysis files, timeline outputs, returns spreadsheets, and supporting data. I reviewed transaction-level discrepancies across three sources—Aaron’s timeline script, my returns script, and Dune data—and reconciled differences in swap pricing, action ordering, and fee accounting. I documented and compared four different XIRR methodologies proposed within the team, added XIRR to individual wallet spreadsheets, and iterated through spike sensitivity and inconsistent active-time issues. In our lp-backtest fork, I updated scripts by adding query chunking to bypass Postgres query-size limits, reviewed existing backtesting scripts, and wrote a helper script to identify wallets filtered by median active-duration block times to support downstream analysis.

A major deliverable this quarter was creating the lp-returns repository, which has become the main tool for calculating wallet-level performance metrics across Aerodrome LP strategies. I implemented accurate cbBTC pricing logic using closest-swap lookups for mint and burn events and optimized the data pipeline by adding multiprocessing, caching layers, and retry handling to prevent RPC failures and reduce runtime on large datasets. I added logic to fetch real-time AERO prices and built full support for staked-wallet action types (collect, gauge_deposit, gauge_withdraw, gauge_getreward), which previously required manual handling. I will continue contributing to the hedging model by generating annotated datasets, debugging discrepancies, and refining model parameters. Q3 Team Progress

In Q3, Harmony advanced protocol upgrades with the London and Berlin forks, new Ethereum proposals (EIP-1153, EIP-2537, EIP-2935), and Stream Sync stability improvements, bringing the network closer to one-second finality and full Ethereum compatibility. Infrastructure upgrades and real-time dashboards strengthened visibility and readiness for mainnet launches in Q4.

On the product and community side, we launched the Aerodrome Monitoring Service, refined LP bots and backtesting systems, and delivered the new Governance platform with validator alignment and recovery proposals. ⛓️Konstantin Potapov

During Q3, I tested the London and Berlin fork release compatibility. The release passed validation on devnet and testnet and was partially deployed on mainnet. It introduced more than 15k lines of code changes and revised EVM internals by replacing big.Int with the more efficient uint256.Int to align with Ethereum’s implementation, updating Harmony smart contracts to match EVM rules, adding the BASEFEE opcode, and adjusting gas computation for several built-in functions. I also implemented transient storage (EIP-1153) and confirmed its execution on devnet. This feature requires additional modifications introduced in the 1.11 fork (Shanghai), including a writable data location with transaction-scoped lifetime, load and save functions integrated into the state transition, and dedicated opcodes supporting transient semantics.

Q4 Plan: I’ll launch release with transient storage (EIP-1153) on mainnet. I’ll also improve metrics coverage for the block proposing process, including more precise block proposal timings under 1-second finality.

♏️Gheis Mohammadi

In Q3, I delivered beyond my plan with three major upgrades.

EIP-2537: fully implemented BLS12-381 precompiles (~17k LOC), enabling efficient on-chain BLS verification for consensus, threshold crypto, and zk apps. Key challenge was adapting complex math at the EVM level and refactoring mid-spec update, which reinforced modular design practices.

EIP-2935: built a ring buffer to extend block hash history 32x, improving access to older block data. The main challenge was balancing storage efficiency with backward compatibility. Implementation is complete, pending team updates and rebase.

Stream Sync: delivered stability upgrades in validation, peer management, and crosslink handling. Deployed successfully on devnet and testnet, now ready for Q4 mainnet launch.

I also contributed smaller PRs for bug fixes, error handling, and P2P syncing performance.

Q4 Plan: launch Stream Sync on mainnet with backward compatibility, finalize EIP-2935 to latest Ethereum spec, and implement new EVM opcodes as needed to maintain full Ethereum compatibility.

🤲Ulad Muraveika

My main focus was stream sync. I deployed new versions on devnet/testnet, debugged database and crosslink issues, and worked with Gheis on fixes that eventually landed in merged PRs. To make issues visible, I built detailed visualizations: real-time dashboards for stream sync health and crosslink messages. These gave the team clear visibility into synchronization behavior and helped validate improvements after each release.

In parallel, I broadened my operational experience: setting up and maintaining devnet/testnet infrastructure, learning how to support a Base archival RPC node with reth, and improving disk and server management for Erigon/Lighthouse.

Q4 Plan: I’ll review the current infrastructure and costs, because now I’m the only one in charge for this. I’ll also improve our observability stack - review and fix our current setup and add new metrics and tools. Lastly, with the team, I’ll prepare the stream sync alpha release on mainnet.

I verified Aerodrome Base data (fees, datasets) and launched the Aerodrome Monitoring Service, aggregating event/subgraph data into wallet- and position-level stats. Results were validated against Dune and custom transaction-level checks. A 3-month analysis showed the highest APR from short, narrow-range positions (often <1 hour), while most profits came from staking. Challenges included mismatches with Dune, differing IL calculations, and difficulty detecting hedged strategies.

I also led the migration and launch on Harmony — deploying contracts, launching the API, updating the UI, and adding features like validator whitelists, two-stage voting, staking dashboard integration, and customizable quorum rules.

Q4 Plan: advance analytics for IL, profit, IRR, and strategy search; expand the Aerodrome Monitoring Service with UI and real-time bot/wallet comparisons; and continue improving gov.harmony.one with features like automatic low-activity validator exclusion and governance integration in staking.

🚎 Artem Kolodko

In Q3, I developed and refined a new LP strategy for the cbBTC/USDC Aerodrome pool, adding rebalancing logic, hedging integration, and support for narrow tick ranges. I implemented the strategy in our bot, handling out-of-range positions, adding persistence for tracking, and improving reliability with multicall transactions, slippage checks, and bug fixes. By September, I expanded stats with IL tracking, net APR, and PnL metrics, and tested live deployments on fly.io. I also evaluated grid positions, concluding they reduce IL but also fee potential, with limited upside beyond gas savings.

Q4 Plan: Finalize return verification tools from blockchain events (IL, APR, USD returns), identify and analyze top LP wallets, and optimize our bot for a consistent ~30% APR. I’ll build a copy-trading bot for leading wallets, refine hedging with dynamic thresholds for volatility, and deploy across multiple cloud providers with monitoring and Telegram alerts.

🧙 Frank Egloff

I refined and validated the Aerodrome LP backtesting system against production data, implementing the Defilab methodology with feeGrowthGlobal0X128 for precise fee calculations and refactoring the position class to be pool-agnostic across Uniswap and Aerodrome. I added liquidity unit calculations to replicate feeGrowthInside behavior and resolved tick calculation bugs.

I built strategy-driven backtesting with volatility-based rebalancing triggers, unified TSV exports, and partial AERO rewards logic (blocked by Analytics API limits). I analyzed discrepancies between Aaron’s database and subgraph feeUSD data—his captured 7–11% of transactions but 43–83% of reported fees—traced to monitoring frequency mismatches (10-min production vs. hourly backtests).

I also began developing a Position Tracking System to study market participant behavior (tokenId tracking, rebalancing patterns, gas costs, timing) to optimize strategies and better understand position lifecycle dynamics.

🧸 Alaina Furstenberg

This quarter, I focused on consistent marketing, publishing weekly Twitter threads, progress shorts, and monthly Substack newsletters. I designed announcement assets, recap videos, and community updates, while coordinating co-marketing campaigns with Travala, CryptoLand_DAO, AthleteFi, FlappyH1, and validators. I expanded our research-driven content by distilling DeFi insights from academic papers and industry blogs into accessible threads, covering topics like asymmetric hedge ratios, delta-neutral LPs, dynamic hedging, futures-based ETFs, and reinforcement learning for liquidity management. I also scripted and produced shorts, finalized the July, August, and September newsletters, and packaged team milestones into recap materials.

Across X, Substack, and YouTube, our content cadence remained steady with weekly posts. On X, we drove 730.5K impressions and 38.4Kengagements (+12%), including 674 replies (+7.8%), with the engagement rate climbing to 5.2% (+12%).

On Substack, we maintained 24,300 subscribers (0% change) while article views rose 13% to 25K; our July and August pieces averaged 9.3K views with 24% open rates.

On YouTube, performance surged as a result of more consistent posting: the channel reached 14,500 views (+237% vs. prior 90 days) and 118.7 hours of watch time (+48%). Long-form videos continued to deliver steady engagement with 32K impressions, while short-form content broke out with 12.5K views (+566%), including 5.7K engaged views, meaning audiences watching beyond the first few seconds.

Q4 Plan: I will continue maintaining a consistent publishing cadence across X, YouTube, and Substack while deepening my understanding of DeFi strategies through ongoing research. I will test new products as they launch and create demos that showcase their impact to the community in clear and engaging ways.

🐝 Amanda Bancroft

During Q3, I joined the social media team and dove in with a 4x increase on daily X content contributing to a quarter close with increases over Q2 in engagements (25%), impressions (19%), profile visits (10%), replies (25%), likes (13%), and bookmarks (6%). The consistency strengthened Harmony’s visibility and community interaction.

On the operations side, I focused on budget review and revisions spearheading a Q3 with a 38% decrease in expenses over Q1, creating meaningful runway efficiency. I also managed state and federal regulatory filings, prepared documentation for R&D tax credit evaluation, and advanced groundwork for year-end compliance by initiating business reporting; positioning the company for a smooth year-end close.

Q4 Plan: I look forward to finalizing R&D tax credit documentation, state and federal tax completion, and closing out business censuses and filings. I will continue driving engagement with the Harmony community via X initiatives and increased output, experimenting with new content formats, as well as, collaborating with teammates to amplify reach and impact.

💹 Phillip Petzka

Q3 was focused on understanding and providing concentrated liquidity for cbBTC/USDC on Aerodrome, as well as the entire environment surrounding it. I improved my data analysis skills, wrote the first Dune queries to gather pool data, fees, position APRs etc. and worked with cursor to gather data via python scripts. It helped me to analyze wallets and thoroughly understand their strategies. Additionally, I assisted the team in understanding mechanics around concentrated AMMs and developing the LP bot on a theoretical level. It lead to an outperformance of the bot strategy during times of low volatility (appr. 70% APR), which is a great first success towards reaching the goal of a market-neutral average 30% APR return. However, it turned out that during high directional volatility, the strategy suffers losses due to frequent rebalancing.

⚽️ Theo Perisic

In Q3, I led and launched the new Harmony Governance platform, adding validator CLI voting, HIP/General spaces, and restoring delegator alignment to validator votes. I drove planning for the governance team, iterated the Accelerated Recovery Proposal with validators, and simplified it by leveraging the Validator Staking Initiative while removing short-term bonuses.

On DeFi, I analyzed Aaron’s LP data (05/01–08/01) to identify grid strategies in cbBTC/USDC CL-100. Results showed best performance either from a single incentivized 100-tick or a compact 5-band grid (~10–15% coverage), with adaptive execution depending on incentives, volatility, and Slipstream cycles. I also delivered on-chain pricing and LP performance infra, building swap pricing scripts, updating valuation logic, and reconciling Dune discrepancies.

Q4 Plan: enhance Harmony Governance with opt-in/opt-out features and a 33% network stake threshold, finalize the Accelerated Recovery Proposal for vote with a 1-year claim window, and apply wallet analysis to deploy a BTC strategy targeting 40%+ returns.

🍓 Rikako Hatoya

I extended the Portfolio Manager (Aerodrome bot) by adding options backtesting, Aerodrome/Uniswap compatibility, cbBTC/USDC fee integration, and AERO rewards tracking. I improved LP position handling (staked/unstaked), added functions for liquidity/fee management, RPC fallbacks, unit tests, caching, logging, and a getStats() API.

I built a multicall close workflow for Aerodrome LPs to bundle liquidity removal, fee collection, and LP burns into one atomic transaction, reducing gas and failures. I also developed hedging simulations using Revert.finance, Binance API, and Hyperliquid, calculating PnL, liquidation, and capital efficiency.

For wallet analysis, I ran backtests, created a Dune query to cross-check fee data, and explored IRR/APR methods to study profitable strategies.

Q4 Plan: establish verified baseline wallets with archival/subgraph/Dune cross-checks, and build tooling for APR/IL calculations and strategy backtesting.

Frank: I built and refined Aerodrome LP backtesting tools, integrating on-chain contract data and subgraph metrics to identify and correct unrealistic APRs caused by misinterpreted fee data and price range dynamics. I also added key Aerodrome service methods, began Portfolio Manager integration, and enhanced Uniswap LP position handling for more accurate analytics.

3. Konstantin: I completed the EVM 1.9 update. I refactored the precompiled contract handling by removing hardcoded logic and extending Ethereum interfaces to support additional parameters, such as EVM and Contract.

   I created an issue proposing a new algorithm for calculating validator uptime. The current approach only accounts for signing power, while the new method will also consider blocks produced by validators. I reviewed, approved and merged several pull requests into dev branch.

This week, the team refined BTC LP and S/BTC trading logic with improved hedge adjustments, position monitoring, and fee tracking, while advancing Aerodrome + Hyperliquid backtesting integrations. Frank and Artem resolved APR calculation issues and validated backtest logic against real pool data, achieving APRs aligned with UI benchmarks. Work continued on validator coordination, SnapshotX governance tools, and DeltaHedge CLI specs, while marketing efforts delivered new progress videos, Q2 write-ups, and animated content.

“BaskiBot” in three stages: Roomba-track Push (to track and move ball towards player like Tennisbot), Net-catch Pump (to collect and shoot like NBA’s Automated Basketball Engine), One-hand Rebound (to instant-pass with finger like Tesla’s Optimus).

In Q2, we shipped the v2025.1.1 mainnet release—delivering major upgrades to consensus, P2P networking, and stream sync reliability. During Q2 2025, I upgraded the Harmony codebase to include Ethereum Berlin and London updates. I focused on improving Harmony’s P2P consensus, EVM execution, gas calculation, and precompiled contract infrastructure.

I launched a new release that completely removed redundant view-change logic, eliminated overhead from the heavily used getLogger method, redesigned the validator uptime calculation to account for mined blocks, and improved localnet testing to be more portable across platforms.

In Q2 2025, we successfully finalized and deployed the 2025.1.1 Harmony release to mainnet, marking a major milestone. This release brought critical improvements to consensus, bootnode stability, and the P2P layer, alongside better logging, reduced resource usage, and various bug fixes. Ahead of the mainnet rollout, we carefully tested the new muxer configuration on testnet using a hybrid approach across bootnodes, ensuring smooth integration and reliable peer connectivity under realistic conditions.

Beyond the release, I focused on hardening P2P networking by addressing gater conflicts, disabling unnecessary libp2p resource managers, and replacing legacy muxers with modern defaults. Stream management also received significant upgrades: trusted peer handling, concurrency fixes, lifecycle tracking, and improved observability made the system more robust and debuggable.

Toward the end of the quarter, I doubled down on staged stream sync improvements. Key efforts included simplifying the sync flow, adopting a pull-based worker model, fixing concurrency bugs, improving failure recovery, and tuning lifecycle monitoring. With these upgrades, we rolled out stream sync to all devnet nodes, which remained almost stable and fully synced, bringing us closer to production-ready stream syncing across the network.

This quarter, my work spanned multiple areas of the Harmony ecosystem and delivered tangible results.

I focused on coordinating the validator community around the v2025.1.1 release, improving consensus stability, and strengthening observability and testing infrastructure. Through active outreach, I engaged large validators and supported their upgrade efforts. As a result, overall adoption of the release reached 70% — 79% on shard 0 and 65% on shard 1 — directly contributing to a major milestone: zero view changes across both shards post-upgrade.

On the testing front, I enhanced the pyhmy Jupyter notebook by adding examples of self-signed staking and transfer transactions. These updates were merged and integrated into CI, making it easier to write and test transactions in RPC and Python environments.

For observability, I upgraded our internal monitoring stack by deploying the latest long-term support version of Nginx and updating the VTS module, enabling detailed tracking of HTTP response codes for RPC traffic. I also built new Grafana dashboards that visualize view changes via Loki logs, block production trends per shard, and node version distributions. These are now actively used to detect slow leaders and version fragmentation in real time.

On the support side, I helped resolve a performance issue on shard 1 caused by a low-performing validator. After coordinating with the validator and community, the node was upgraded and shard performance returned to normal.

Earlier in the quarter, I also resolved a routing issue on Contabo-hosted devnet/testnet nodes, where extra internal routes caused communication inconsistencies. Fixing this brought testnet behavior in line with mainnet expectations.

Throughout the quarter, I contributed to validator coordination, protocol testing (including DisablePrivateIPScan), and improvements to developer tools and CI workflows — all contributing to a more stable, observable, and upgrade-ready Harmony network.

In Q2, I worked on the development of Shadow/Aerodrome position stats tracker scripts, as well as advanced analytics and research on yield strategies. I collected and analyzed extensive statistics across USD and BTC pools (Aerodrome, Beefy, SwapX, Shadow, Spectra). I developed multiple scripts to calculate APR, impermanent loss, and time-in-range per wallet, and built datasets with over 50,000 positions. I exported and organized raw data from subgraphs and contract events, and grouped LP strategies by parameters (cutoff, buffer, rebalancing gap), including VFAT and Ichi Vaults. I also worked on Shadow and VFAT strategy tracking services and launched shadow-pool-analytics, featuring real-time wallet stats and APIs. Additionally, I built backend tools (NestJS + Swagger) for LP tracking and rebalancing analysis.

I estimated APR sources for high-yield Aerodrome pools (cbBTC/USDC, cbBTC/WETH) and separated APR components—trading fees and staking rewards—based on contract events. I created an API to track pool shares and dynamic yields. Together with Theo and Artem, I explored delta-neutral BTC strategies and initiated integration plans with Hyperliquid perps, including a CLI MVP spec.

On bridging improvements, I resolved stuck assets and redeployed contracts (e.g., $AXS, USDC.e) for Unify Bridge. I also researched BSC RPCs and began debugging the LayerZero V2 universal bridge with dynamic token mapping.

🚎Artem Kolodko

In Q2, I worked on the design and development of Uniswap BTC LP strategy with impermanent loss hedging. I performed advanced analytics on DeFi stablecoin pools, emphasizing security, high yields, and verified performance. I developed and tested a suite of scripts in the "shadow-scraper" repository to assess the performance of Euler USDC pools, Pendle PT and LP markets, Shadow CL USDC, Silo Finance, and Beefy. I completed detailed analytics and compiled comprehensive statistics on the top five stablecoin pools for investment opportunities.

I researched a BTC LP trading strategy, analyzing impermanent loss in BTC investments and utilizing Hyperliquid futures positions as a hedge. I created a backtesting script and a prototype for implementing this trading strategy.

I led a team of two developers working on DeFi pool analytics and BTC LP strategy implementation. I participated in daily meetings, reviewed pull requests, and assigned tasks to ensure the team met project goals on schedule.

🧙Frank Egloff

In Q2 2025, I worked on the development of Beefy protocol portfolio tracker scripts, developed DeFi analytics infrastructure for multi-protocol yield tracking and APR calculations across the Sonic ecosystem. I built and deployed the Pendle/Sonic subgraph with RedeemRewards event tracking and entity handlers for PT/YT reward discrimination. Tracking scripts were created for Aave, Beefy, Equilibria, Silo, and Magpie protocols, establishing APR calculation methodologies that matched UI displays. I implemented Balancer v2/v3 yield calculations for Beets tracker, integrating ERC4626RateProvider contracts to handle BEETS rewards and yield-bearing token appreciation.

I completed Uniswap V3 LP backtesting showing 36.18% APR over 1-year historical periods and refactored the Uniswap LP service to use contract calls, eliminating subgraph dependencies to enable mainnet to Sepolia support for backtesting scripts. Full price range backtesting was completed for Aerodrome protocol, achieving APR values close to the User Interface amounts. Cross-protocol backtesting capabilities were advanced by building integrated systems combining Aerodrome LP positions with Hyperliquid perpetual hedging strategies. I fixed funding calculation logic for SHORT positions, resolving negative APR issues where positive funding rates generate income for shorts in bullish markets, and implemented Aaron's BTC LP strategy with dynamic hedge sizing based on token ratio deviations.

I maintained and enhanced 1Bot infrastructure by integrating Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 models, updating OpenAI models with o3 and GPT-4.1 variants, and resolving deployment issues on fly.io servers. Database backup and cloning procedures were implemented to address server instability, adding retry cycles for DB and Telegram connections to prevent continuous restarts. Technical support was provided for user-reported issues including Luma command failures and Harmony Bot deployment troubleshooting.

🧸Alaina Furstenberg

This quarter, I focused on consistent marketing—publishing weekly Twitter threads, progress shorts, and monthly Substack reports. I led the Colossus integration rollout end-to-end, creating announcement assets, AI podcast, and co-branded content. I also upskilled in Framer, Figma Make, Canva animation and Cursor—learning to prototype websites, structure markdown systems, and explore vibe-coding and animation workflows that bridge design and AI. I co-authored the Q2 report and produced recap videos to capture and package team progress.

I highlighted protocol updates, demoed new features on ONE Bot, and co-marketed with partners like FlappyH1, 1UtilityDAO, RecoveryONE, Crypto_Land_DAO and more while promoting and researching our new initiative 5.country.

💹Phillip Petzka

Q2 was entirely driven by identifying the problems of liquidity pools and the lack of profitability of liquidity providers, especially when it comes to concentrated liquidity pools. Benchmarks and test scenarios revealed that most losses are attributed to suboptimal rebalancing during high-volatility periods. The findings helped to look into potential solutions. The measurement of volatility-to-price correlation only delivered weak results. Still, it was clear that a phase of strong price moves needs to be avoided when farming concentrated pools or even having automated rebalancing in place.

My current solution is an automated hedged farming strategy with manual range selection. The script tracks Token balances in the LP and opens equivalent hedges once the position moves out of range. This way, strong price movements are caught while avoiding a potentially malicious rebalancing. After the deposit, the entire process is automated and integrates with Shadow Exchange as well as Sonic and using price data from Coingecko. I coded the Python script with Cursor after learning the foundations of LLM-based development (vibe coding). The script has been tested successfully and currently runs on a virtual machine for performance testing.

Created 5 custom yield strategy repositories (initial btc-hyperliquid-aerodrome script, pendle PT yield monitoring, shadow-lp-analyzer for profitability analysis, stablecoin-lp-optimizer for vfat.io parameter optimizations, and lp-optimizer-v2 for liquidity backtesting). Conducted extensive aerodrome tracking with Yuriy, turning 1000+ positions into human-readable, actionable insights. Achieved consistent 50% returns across initial funding rate arbitrage. Optimal 10%+ stablecoin yields achieved through testing and on-chain verifications.

Added Aerodrome LP functionality to portfolio-manager, which supports Uniswap, Hyperliquid, and Aerodrome. Coordination with recovery multisig custodian (RMC) operations and resolved June burn delay, leading to RMC pushing recovery past 32%, 2 additional recovery partner proposals (CryptoLandDAO & UtilityDAO), and initialized SnapshotX development for Harmony.

In Q2, I implemented EIP-2718, which introduces typed transactions to support the processing and transmission of multiple transaction formats. This included implementing both legacy transactions and optional access list transactions, enabling users to specify the addresses accessed during execution. I also conducted research into libp2p to explore improvements to the peer-to-peer networking protocol. Continuing from Q2, I plan to focus primarily on contributing to and refining the P2P logic in the upcoming quarter. In parallel with protocol work, I fully transitioned into the DevOps lead role—gaining familiarity with the tech stack, handling security operations, and managing infrastructure. Mainly, we released version v2025.1.1, which improves bootnode stability and refines the consensus logic.

🍓Rikako Hatoya

In Q2, a major focus was the shadow-scraper repo, where I worked on verifying APR calculations across various vaults on the Sonic network. This included cross-validating on-chain data for USDC.e and wBTC/USDC vaults, implementing Pendle reward tracking, and addressing discrepancies in Merkl’s API by parsing RewardDistributed logs directly. I also contributed yield analysis scripts for Spectra, Euler, and Silo vaults, integrating logic for LP fee and fixed PT rewards, and ensuring consistency in .tsv export formats used by the portfolio tracker. A lot of effort went into aligning our APR logic with protocol-specific quirks—like boost mechanics, proxy patterns, and vault token wrappers—to ensure the data we show is accurate and reliable.

Starting mid-May, I shifted focus toward BTC vaults, beginning with an audit of BTC/USDC LPs with over $50K in liquidity across Sonic protocols. I expanded vault coverage in the portfolio-manager repo and worked on new strategies for Hyperliquid backtesting, LP simulations, and PnL tracking. I also built a basic BTC-USD backtest module using historical price feeds, which I later extended to simulate funding rates and fees. In parallel, I explored options markets via Derive and Binance APIs—writing backtest logic and attempting to open/close positions programmatically. While Derive integration is still ongoing due to private API issues, the debugging process gave me valuable insight into authentication flows, orderbook structure, and SDK limitations.

Overall, Q2 was about deepening the portfolio tracker’s coverage—both horizontally (across more vaults and platforms) and vertically (with more detailed APR breakdowns, including fees and rewards). A lot of this wouldn’t have been possible without Artem’s help, and I really want to acknowledge his support—he was incredibly generous with his time and advice. Looking ahead to Q3, I’m hoping to build on this foundation with more robust simulations and the potential to incorporate Aaron’s trading strategies into our system.

Q3 Focus

In Q3 2025, Harmony’s primary focus is finalizing and rigorously testing our Bitcoin strategies to ensure they deliver sustainable, risk-hedged returns at the protocol level. Building on the stablecoin strategies deployed in Q2, we’re targeting 20–30% returns through delta-neutral positions, cross-chain liquidity, and innovative hedging approaches. We’re prioritizing robust validation of these strategies before any public product release, ensuring long-term sustainability for our treasury and ecosystem funding without relying on unsustainable incentives.

On the protocol side, we continue strengthening our infrastructure with enhancements to testing frameworks, validator tools, and EVM upgrades. In parallel, we’re deepening our exploration of robotics AI, focusing on real-world data collection and vision-language-action models to advance physical world applications. I upgraded the Harmony codebase from Ethereum source version 1.8 to the 1.9 major release, improving EVM internals—including stack management, function handling, and initialization. This PR aligns our codebase with Ethereum, resolving key discrepancies.

I also fixed leader rotation stability in block production, launched 1-second finality on devnet, implemented the BaseFee field in the block header and integrated Ethereum’s EIP-2565 update, upgraded Golang to version 1.24, and improved CI testing for PRs on Travis.

♏️Gheis Mohammadi

During Q1 2025, I focused on improving Harmony’s P2P layer, stream sync, and network stability through multiple optimizations, bug fixes, and new features. Notable improvements include refining stream sync logic, optimizing reconnections, enhancing block request handling, and reducing memory usage. Several PRs addressed syncing inefficiencies, protocol mismatches, and connectivity issues, significantly improving network performance.

Key updates include a new reconnection mechanism for streams, adaptive backoff for peer advertisements, and better error handling for block downloads. Improvements and launch of Pump.ONE contracts. All contracts are made upgradable. Added a second alternative version of the Token Factory contract without competitions with the preserved functionality of trading and publishing in Uniswap V3 pools. Transition to AсcessControl with the division of functionality between the roles of administrator and manager. Added utility methods for withdrawing rewards and liquidity. Fixed critical errors in interaction with Uniswap and price calculation. Assistance with integration with backend and frontend services. Support at Pump.ONE application launch.

Completed Unify Bridge Assets V1 feature: USDC converter contract allow converting legacy USDC to USDC.e at a rate of 1-1, extended ProxyHRC20 layerzero contracts to support bridging USDC tokens from different chains to one USDC.e on the harmony side, the frontend was also updated to support unify assets feature. Now the conversion works for the linea and base networks.

Started working on Layerzero V2 bridge contract: one common contract for all tokens, dynamic addition of new tokens via contract method calls, auto deployment of token wrapper on the harmony side. Draft version is ready, currently in debugging stage. Researched options for transferring liquidity from v1 contracts to v2.

Researched contracts for auto balance strategies: vfat Farm Strategy, beefy, arrakis, gamma. Created contract based on FarmStrategy with predefined parameters. The contract checks for range out-of-range and calls rebalancing methods. The goal is to collect statistics for analysis in-range fee-collecting performance in sonic mainnet.

🚎Artem Kolodko

In Q1 2025, I focused on advancing DeFi analytics. I started portfolio performance tracking across Sonic-based DeFi protocols like Silo, Shadow, and Aave, depositing funds and looking for APIs for data aggregation. I completed research on ALM (Automated Liquidity Management) protocols, identifying Gamma as optimal for dynamic volatility strategies, and shared findings with Stephen and Li. Created Shadow Exchange scraper, a set of scripts to export pool's deposits and withdrawals events from the Shadow Subgrarph to CSV, and developed scripts for TVL and APY analysis of Beefy and vfat pools. Additionally, I contributed to Pump.ONE’s client and backend updates, improving competition features and launching production services. I also started researching UniswapX, resolved deployment issues with Aaron's help, and started testing contract deployments on Harmony. My work focused on analyzing DeFi liquidity pools, validating the data, and working with the team on the analysis results.

In Q1, I focused on working on DeFi analytics on Portfolio Rebalancing, 1Tick automatic rebalancing, and yield analysis; by developing a Python-based command-line DeFi-protocol-TVL-Tracker with a modular provider-protocol architecture, implementing integrations for Euler, SwapX, Shadow, Curve, Aave, and Beets protocols. I built the Sonic Yield Calculator app to analyze how 1tick automatic rebalancer works, implementing vfat.io functionality using the vfat.tools repository which implements a deposit logic on the Sonic chain. Additionally, I created a Portfolio Management prototype with rebalancing algorithms, using a patched Uniswap SDK and direct contract calls. I provided technical support for Ledger hardware wallet integration, identifying M1/Arm64 architecture compatibility issues.

I enhanced our AI infrastructure by integrating multiple models into Harmony1Bot, including Claude 3.7 Sonnet, DeepSeek, and OpenAI's o1. For the harmony-llm-api, I developed a payment system with ONE balance management and a deposit website built within Flask (not yet live). I configured a Harmony Agent using Eliza's framework with GitBook integration, Telegram client deployment, and created both a Harmony character and Harmonious character with a fun, optimistic tone. I conducted detailed yield analysis for multi-protocol strategies combining Aave, Pendle, and Magpie on the Soniclabs chain.

🧸Alaina Furstenberg

This quarter, I focused on DeFi testing for /wealth, AI-driven content creation, and product marketing strategy. I researched cross-chain swaps, concentrated liquidity, and DeFi rebalancing, documenting my findings on /wealth. I refined my workflow with AI tools like Sora, Pika, and MidJourney, developed detailed marketing plans for five products, and designed animations and graphics for Pump.ONE, exchange.ONE, boostDAI, and other ecosystem initiatives. 💹Phillip Petzka

The vision for Harmony to be the Home of Simple DeFi became more structured and detailed, with most of my work contributing to that vision. Q1 was driven by extensive product research focussing on laying the knowledge foundation to develop cross-chain products on Harmony. Users should be able to access yield opportunities across several ecosystems in a simple click and leverage custom strategies on Harmony.

The Yield Enhancer is ready to be launched, and the treasury is accruing yield for it. To enable a better user experience, the bridge infrastructure of Harmony needs to be improved. I built a partnership with Socket protocol to make any asset quickly available via the issuance of wrapped tokens and ensure fast deposits and withdrawals for users. Additional product ideas are evolving around stablecoins, yield product leveraging, and portfolio management.

DeFAI: AI meets DeFi Platforms like @HeyAnonai let users execute trades via chatbots. But will this drive mass adoption?

Crypto’s biggest success stories (pump.fun, Stepn, CeDeFi) simplified UX & promised financial upside. DeFAI offers automation, but it’s still complex—users need deep DeFi knowledge. Can it evolve into a true Web2-friendly experience?

The real test: Is typing a command easier than clicking a button? For DeFAI to onboard the masses, it must abstract complexity like PayPal did for payments.

Abstracting complexity and simplifying DeFi is our mission for 2025. Following along as we build exchange.one, a cross-chain AI portfolio balancer.

I enhanced core DeFi infrastructure by implementing Lend contract updates (closefactormantissa, liquidationincentivemantissa) enabling liquidations and improving stability againts bad debt. I developed the Yield Boost frontend and added details (targeting 15%+ stablecoin APY), contributed code and user-driven strategy to Pump.ONE's dual-launch system, and designed the initial universal bridge UI to eliminate USDC fragmentation into unified USDC.e.

I led the strategic 0x prioritization initiative to resolve our top user onboarding friction point via seamless address compatibility. I researched Loss-Versus-Rebalancing (LVR) for optimized liquidity strategies and built custom SQL queries for accurate on-chain TVL and fee tracking. I resolved CoinMarketCap supply data issues bringing our untracked reporting from 2.65B to 0. Sonic ecosystem analysis led to critical feature potential comparing industry leading rebalancing tools like vfat.io, tracking revealed 50%+ of APY values for various pools come from artificial incentivized yields, confirming a market opportunity for simplified DeFi.

Efforts also boosted Harmony's market presence. Securing the 'Made in USA' category listing on CoinGecko and perpetual futures for ONEon Kraken, further increasing market access.

In Q1, I implemented EIP-1153, which introduces transient storage opcodes to reduce gas costs and improve smart contract efficiency. I also implemented EIP-2718, which standardizes transaction envelopes, allowing for easier integration of future transaction types. Additionally, I began work on EIP-2930, which introduces access lists to reduce gas costs and improve reliability for certain types of transactions. Alongside protocol work, I began transitioning into the DevOps lead role previously held by Soph. This included managing Ulad, overseeing server infrastructure, system operations, and taking on other critical DevOps responsibilities.

In early Q1 2025, I worked on AI and mathematics, specifically formal proofs using Lean and testing math Olympiad problems from the minif2f dataset with models from huggingface (AlphaGeometry and DeepSeek Prover). I then shifted to DeFi, researching end-to-end finance and personal on-chain finance tools. This led to hands-on work with asset bridging on Harmony, where I deployed proxy contracts (HRC20 and ERC20, with a lot of help from Yuriy) integrated with LayerZero for assets like AERO.

My main focus has been on the Sonic chain. I began by exploring its ecosystem, researching the highest-yield platforms and pools—primarily SwapX and Shadow. I utilized Dune Analytics, SonicScan, and Graph Explorer to estimate incentives and rewards across pools, and contributed to optimizing allocation strategies. I also tested various dApps within Sonic Labs, investigated farming pools on Silo + SwapX, and experimented with vaults like ICHI + vfat.io.

My most impactful work was developing a repo to extract top profiters from any pool on Sonic—initially focusing on the wS-USDC.e pool on Shadow Exchange through fetching transaction data using SonicScan API. The tool fetches all incentive transactions from a specified rewards gauge (address can be found on Shadow exchange Dune), tracks every interaction (liquidity changes, rewards) between the pool and individual addresses, and computes key metrics like rebalance frequency and APR. This provided valuable insight into the trading strategies of top wallets and can be applied flexibly across pools by modifying the input address.

Q2 Focus

Harmony’s Q2 focus is on delivering Simple DeFi: making powerful, complex DeFi strategies easily accessible through user-friendly products. Building on Q1's research and infrastructure work, Harmony is now moving toward deployment—launching Yield Boost (offering 15–20%+ yields on stablecoins via MakerDAO/Sky Protocol) and integrating AI agentsvia Eliza OS to automate strategies. This quarter also strengthens community-led governance through streamlined DAOs—Transaction, Emission, and Community DAOs—empowering users to allocate protocol rewards toward growth, innovation, or even token burns. With improved onboarding, bridge upgrades, and token creation tools like pump.one, Harmony is positioning itself as the go-to chain for accessible, sustainable DeFi.

Week of Feb 1st

February kicked off with airdrops from EasyNode.pro and FlappyH1. Stephen highlighted the sharp rise in DeFi revenue, with DEXs seeing a 160.6% QoQ increase to $196.4M in Q4 2024. He discussed how this growth compares to the earnings of Telegram trading bots, which have become an increasingly popular tool for on-chain trading.

Progress has been made on expanding Pump.ONE to support multiple token factories with competitions, syncing contract updates, and improving the USDC converter with interface updates and balance validation. Work on integrating DeepSeek with 1Bot continues, with progress on resolving Harmony LLM dependencies and supporting Ledger wallet integration. Development on the staking dashboard's Ledger support and a yield enhancer continues.

1. Artem expanded Pump.ONE to support multiple token factories with competitions, synced contract updates with Yuriy, and improved the USDC converter with interface updates and balance validation.

2. Frank worked on integrating DeepSeek with 1Bot, resolving Harmony LLM dependencies, and supporting Ledger wallet integration, but faced ongoing M1 compatibility issues and DeepSeek API access challenges.

3. Soph reduced the number of spawned nodes in Travis CI tests to optimize resource usage. During this, Soph identified a corner-case consensus issue in local network, occurring during the transition from pre-staking to staking epoch when no external validators are present and all internal BLS keys are on a single node. An initial fix was implemented, but further work is required. Development on the staking dashboard's Ledger support continues.

Week of Feb 8th

This week, Kraken Pro launched Harmony perps with up to 20x leverage and Recovery One burned $1.13M in assets in Round 28 ($29.3M depegged to date). Stephen highlighted how the Fat Wallet Thesis presents growing value to wallets.

The protocol team enhanced peer-to-peer connectivity by improving explorer node integration and stream sync logging. Ongoing efforts focused on resolving a race condition and upgrading Streamnet for greater stability. The team also advanced the integration of the Ledger SDK into the staking dashboard, resolving critical issues with Uniswap interactions, WalletConnect, and hardware communication. Continued testing and development of Pump.ONE contracts also took place. Additionally, block production was optimized to reduce latency, while important updates were made to the block version and BLS library to enhance security.

Gheis: Last week saw significant progress with multiple pull requests created, reviewed, and merged, including fixes for explorer node connectivity, staged stream sync logging, and protocol advertisement reliability. Work continues on resolving a race condition affecting explorer nodes, with plans to upgrade and restart them on streamnet for improved stability and performance.

2. Aaron: Work progressed on debugging and integrating the new Ledger SDK into the staking dashboard, enabling account retrieval and basic login functionality. Additional efforts focused on refining Pump.ONE contracts, resolving critical errors with Uniswap interactions, reviewing research on wallets and stablecoins, and addressing technical issues with WalletConnect, Ledger hardware communication, and domain operations.

3. Konstantin: Optimized block production by reducing time from 1 second to 0.950 seconds to mitigate network latency. Implemented a new block version with EIP-1559 and EIP-3198 changes and updated the BLS library with the latest security enhancements.

   

Week of Feb 15th

During the 3rd week of February, ONETracker updated the “My Tokens” feature to include native tokens and NFTs in one seamless dashboard. FlappyH1 awarded two winners with airdrops. Binance.US released a ONE / USD pair. Stephen shared insights from the 2025 Delphi Digital AI Outlook.

Positive feedback was gathered at Consensus Hong Kong, leading to ideas for rebranding, unique retail products, and incentive programs. Key infrastructure updates were implemented, and testing of the Portfolio Management prototype and rebalancing algorithms moved forward, alongside continued testing for Pump.ONE.

1. Philipp attended Consensus Hong Kong to gather feedback on building DeFi on Harmony. He received positive responses, especially regarding products like the yield enhancer. Key suggestions included a rebrand, unique retail products, and incentive programs for onboarding teams. Philipp also explored cross-chain partnerships with infrastructure and GameFi projects.

2. Soph integrated the staking dashboard wallet with the latest Harmony Ledger app v1.15.0, ensuring all staking transactions are functional. He also reviewed several protocol features and fixes, including EOA sender validation (EIP-3607), the 1-second finality fix (1.05s), and the p2p gater PR for controlling non-Harmony P2P nodes. While on-call, Soph investigated long block times on shard 0 mainnet, identifying slower processing by Harmony node leaders as the cause.

3. Frank advanced the Portfolio Management prototype, resolving deployment issues on fly.io and integrating token lists for supported assets. He enhanced the UI to showcase rebalancing algorithms with mock operations, deployed the DeepSeek r1 paid model to 1Bot, and worked on integrating RPC calls for token balances. Testing of the rebalancing algorithm also took place ahead of swap integration.

Week of Feb 22nd

The Harmony community saw major milestones this week, including its ranking among top blockchain projects by FDV and the official launch of Pump.ONE. Crypto_Land_DAO promoted its CLD Launchpad, while Li highlighted speedy AI-driven development. Stephen also announced hiring for cross-chain portfolio engineers, reinforcing Harmony’s 2025 DeFi.

On the technical side, progress continued on staking dashboard improvements, bridge debugging, and protocol upgrades. The “Show on Ledger” issue was resolved (PR #722), while work on clear signing and potential ERC7730 integration is ongoing. Unify Assets saw improvements in legacy USDC handling and Base bridge debugging, alongside research into LayerZero V2 liquidity transfers. Efforts to address bridge issues were coordinated with the community.

1. Soph: Following the Ledger integration with the staking dashboard, we fixed the "Show on Ledger" issue (PR #722), while clear signing still requires further development, possibly with ERC7730 and a new wallet integration. Additionally, we investigated debug_traceTransaction inconsistencies and single-transaction timeouts, while reviewing multiple pull requests to support protocol development.

2. Theo: Launch of Pump.ONE. Update to rules for easier readability (PR #17). Coordination with Philipp and Yuriy for Universal Bridge product bringing more efficient liquidity to Harmony. Continued metrics and testing for Shadow.

3. Yuriy: Improved the Unify Assets proxy contract (V1) by adding a parameter for legacy USDC (burn-only) and enabling explicit token selection in _debitFrom. Debugged USDC (Base) bridge issues, synchronized with Theo and Philipp on architecture refinements, assisted with contract deployment, and researched LayerZero V2 liquidity transfers and bridge solutions using Socket protocol.

Conclusion

As March begins, Harmony refines its DeFi ecosystem with a focus on simplicity, utility, and liquidity. The development of exchange.one, a cross-chain AI portfolio manager, will enhance DeFi with automated asset management, seamless cross-chain integrations, and smarter portfolio rebalancing. These innovations make DeFi more accessible, interoperable, and scalable for Harmony users. As we continue to grow, we're hiring and looking to bring on new talent to help simplify DeFi in 2025.

January has been a dynamic and productive month for the Harmony ecosystem. The first week welcomed AthleteFi, a new community project, along with the launch of validator tools such as airdrop.easynode.pro. Meanwhile, the protocol team made significant progress by integrating the Eliza AI agent, improving stream sync, and enhancing data integrity. The following weeks saw key milestones, including Harmony’s listing on CoinMart's DEX and ongoing updates to the testnet, staking explorer, and the USDC Universal Bridge. AI agent development, community engagement, and simple DeFi have been at the forefront of the month’s achievements, setting the stage for a promising 2025.

Week of Jan 1st:

The first week of the new year included welcoming AthleteFi to the Harmony community as well as the launch of airdrop.easynode.pro to help validators airdrop by stake weight. Li and Stephen highlight X.country: A(G)I Agents for Memes and DeFi as the theme for the new year.

The protocol team configured the Eliza AI agent with Twitter integration, published posts, and documented steps for local setup. They also completed a staged stream sync refactor to improve data integrity, and explored a reserved peer list for enhanced reliability. On the community side, a call emphasized priorities such as "0x" wallet addresses for seamless user access and greater community representation in the 2025 plan.

1. Artem: configured Eliza AI agent with Twitter integration, post are published to the Twitter account; created docs article on how to launch it locally.

2. Gheis: I completed the staged stream sync refactor, adding a new block hashes stage to improve data integrity before downloading block bodies (PR #4824). I’m also exploring a reserved peer list for stream sync, which would instantly replace disconnected or invalid peers, enhancing operational consistency and reliability.

3. Theo: Community call. Prioritization insights from community: “0x” wallet address top priority for seamless entrance to Harmony, and more community representation in 2025 plan.

Week of Jan 6th:

This week, CoinMart listed Harmony on their DEX, and Crypto_Land_DAO sponsored the weekly airdrop for FlappyH1. Stephen and Li shared insights into the future development of AI agents.

The protocol team achieved significant progress, including Ledger's plan to release the new Harmony app by late January or early February. On testnet, updates were deployed to the staking explorer, improving navigation for precompile transactions and resolving a Shard 1 consensus issue.

Key pull requests were finalized to enhance P2P system stability with a reserved stream list, a devnet RAM issue was resolved by refining the resource manager, and resource efficiency was improved through further optimizations. Progress also continued on aligning the Message struct with Ethereum standards, addressing staking transaction issues, and implementing EIP-3607 to enable sponsored transactions.

Team Progress:

1. Soph: I met with Ledger, which plans to release the new Harmony app by late January or early February. On the testnet, I deployed staking explorer updates, including displaying exact ONE rewards, improving navigation for precompile transactions, and adding ONE values to transaction lists. A fix for an Out of Memory issue linked to the resource manager is under testing, and a Shard 1 consensus loss caused by an out-of-sync internal validator node was mitigated, with future updates set to remove internal nodes from committees.

2. Gheis: I finalized PR #4824, addressing feedback and adding tests, with one small issue left before merging. In PR #4826, I introduced a reserved stream list to the P2P system, enabling immediate peer replacement for better recovery, stability, and resilience in large networks. The team resolved a RAM issue on devnet nodes by enabling the resource manager with default limits. To optimize this, I created PR #4827, ensuring the resource manager is included only when explicitly enabled, improving resource efficiency.

3. Konstantin: Updated the Message struct to align with Ethereum standards and enhanced test scripts to dynamically use the TRAVIS_PULL_REQUEST_BRANCH variable, eliminating hardcoded branch names. Resolved an effectiveGasPrice issue for staking transactions and progressed on EIP-3607 implementation, introducing sponsored transactions.

Week of Jan 13th:

This week, FlappyH1 awarded over 2,000,000 WAGE tokens to tap-to-earn players. Round 27 of recovery removed $1.25 million in depegged assets, bringing the total recovery to $28.2 million. Stephen shared AGI content for Math (i.country), and Li highlighted Hashkey’s top predictions: Bitcoin ("digital gold") surpassing $300,000, Ethereum ("digital oil") exceeding $8,000, and the total crypto market cap reaching $10 trillion. Additionally, DEXs are expected to leverage AI and memes for market share, while CEXs will adopt DeFi strategies. USD-pegged stablecoins are forecasted to surpass a $300 billion market cap.

In development, Artem began research on Eliza AI plugins and merged updates to the Explorer client. Yuriy refactored the LayerZero proxy contract and deployed a USDC Converter. Phillip focused on testing the Harmony Yield Enhancer and preparing a marketing strategy, including talks with Across for cross-chain features.

1. Artem: Research on Eliza AI plugins has begun, including work on the Harmony EVM agent. Updates to staking transaction values (USD included) were merged into PR #23 for the Explorer client. Key fixes and features were implemented for the Yield Enhancer, while pump.ONE added Harmony Testnet support and ran an 8-hour trading bot test.

2. Yuriy: Refactored the LayerZero proxy contract with updated Solidity, added service methods, and improved token transfer calculations with SafeERC20. Deployed a USDC Converter with test tokens and examples, while optimizing the proxy contract and supporting interface development. Enhanced the Proxy to track external chain token locks and completed key corrections, including fee calculation fixes and unified bridge assets.

3. Phillip: Focused on testing the Harmony Yield Enhancer, planning its next steps, and preparing a marketing strategy, including content for boostDAI promotion and a curated KOL contact list. Initiated talks with Across to enable cross-chain and 1-click deposit features post-launch, aiming to reach a broader audience beyond the current Harmony community.

During the third week of January, ElizaOS was integrated into Harmony’s blockchain, enhancing ONE’s utility. Team efforts included Frank’s improvements to the Harmony-Eliza-Agent GitBook plugin and 1Bot fixes, Yuriy’s updates to the bridge app with USDC transfer checks and warnings, and Artem’s work on the Harmony plugin for Eliza, along with research on staking and Swap APIs.

The Galaxii platform highlighted strong community engagement, while the Yield Enhancer progressed toward launch with testing and cross-chain deposit plans. Broader discussions included Stephen's insights on data companies scaling revenues through math solutions and Li’s focus on AI’s growing influence.

2. Yuriy: Worked on updating the frontend part of the bridge application - added checks for the available transfer limit for all USDC tokens by calling a new contract proxy method. Also working on displaying warnings and changing token links.

3. Artem: Worked on harmony plugin based on Eliza EVM plugin. Discussed with the team about features to implement, explored Harmony staking and Swap API.

During the final week of January, Frank deployed the Eliza Harmony Agent with GitBook and Telegram on Fly.io, scaling to 2GB RAM, and is researching AI frameworks. Artem tested and finalized Pump.ONE upgradable contracts, while Theo secured Harmony’s "Made in USA" listing on CoinGecko.

The mandatory validator upgrade (v2025.0.0) is enhancing network stability. Flap & Earn wrapped up with 2X rewards, and Stephen highlighted the use of Lean and OCaml in building formal models, reinforcing their role in ensuring rigor and reliability in blockchain and AI research.

The community played a vital role in Harmony's success this quarter. FlappyH1 surpassed 220 players and integrated NFTs for $WAGE mining, setting the stage for fully on-chain gameplay in 2025. CryptoLand DAO achieved $WAGE token milestones, contributed $150,000+ in liquidity, and expanded cross-chain via LayerZero. These efforts, combined with collaborative co-marketing campaigns and growing DeFi adoption, underscore Harmony’s commitment to building the interection of crypto ∩ ai.

Week of Dec 1st:

During the first week of December, the team focused on improving staking features, optimizing video subtitle handling, and preparing pump.fun for launch with enhancements to market cap calculations and file support. Community engagement included promoting Kilopi dApp developments, highlighting simple ONE click defi, and organizing the upcoming ONE Show space on X.

Top Team Progress:

1. Artem: Continuing on pump.fun fixes before the launch: fixed market cap and token price calculation, added GIF and PNG files support, added file size and type validation on the BE side, improvedtrade notification.

2. Frank: Completed video transcript demo with optimized subtitle handling: migrated from MoviePy per-word to FFmpeg approach using window-size text blocks, eliminating word spacing issues and subtitle flicker. Enhanced logging with ASCII text preservation and terminal escape removal. Extended CLI with SRT input support, enabling clip generation from 5-word text, raw subtitles, or SRT files.

3. Soph: This week, I focused on improving staking-related features and functionality. I investigated issues related to the staking "collect reward" amount and collaborated with Artem for assistance. Additionally, I submitted new feature requests to Protofire aimed at enhancing the staking experience on the explorer: 1) Support for displaying claimed reward amounts 2) Relocating account staking precompile transaction history from the normal transaction page to the dedicated staking transaction page 3) Displaying CollectReward, Delegate, and Undelegate amounts on the staking transaction page.

   Additionally, I spent time testing and reviewing PRs aimed at resolving the multiple consensus proposal bug. However, despite these efforts, the issue remains unresolved and will require further investigation and refinements.

Week of Dec 8th:

This week, the team introduced critical updates, including enhanced stability for multi-BLS key validators and progress on unifying bridge assets with a Proxy bridge contract prototype. Community highlights featured recovery funding allocations, harmonycommunity.one, the start of Round 27 of recovery, and HeyEddie’s launch of multi-file video editing.

Top Team Progress:

1. Gheis: Last week, I addressed an issue with multi-BLS key validators in the consensus module that caused multiple block proposals and potential network crashes. I initially submitted PR #4810 but replaced it with PR #4811, which resolves the root cause by refining leader verification logic, ensuring efficient leader transitions, and improving debug logs.

   I also simplified the leader quorum calculation for commit and prepare phases with PR #4813, replacing dynamic quorum checks with a state-based approach for better efficiency and consistency.

   Lastly, I resolved a resource limit issue affecting boot nodes by introducing a resource manager to P2P configurations in PR #4815, enhancing network stability and performance.

2. Theo: Created base frontend for yield enhancer, shared with Artem.

3. Yuriy: Worked on a prototype for a new Proxy bridge contract with the ability to unify bridge assets - the main difference on the Harmony side will be the ability to link several proxy oft contracts to one token and accounting for liquidity on the side of the external chain by increasing the counter inside the contract on the Harmony side

Week of Dec 15th:

This week, the team focused on technical enhancements, including gas-optimized smart contracts for LLM API deposits, significant progress on 1-second finality, and updates to Pump.ONE and the yield enhancer. Stephen and Li shared ambitious 2025 goals, highlighting plans for AI-driven innovations, DeFi expansion, and infrastructure upgrades, while the community engaged in discussions on the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

Week of Dec 22nd:

As December wrapped up, the team showcased their 2025 vision through YouTube and Substack, highlighting onchain AI agents and simplifying DeFi on Harmony. Artem advanced Pump.ONE with trading view enhancements and wallet fixes, while Rikako developed and tested AI agents for better content highlights on Twitter. Successfully completed the leader rotation process, ensuring a smooth mainnet launch by enhancing synchronization mechanisms to guarantee uninterrupted block production. Introduced a bypass for inactive leaders, significantly reducing potential downtime and improving network resilience.

Additionally, I worked on improving local network development, enhancing network insights, and refining proposal signals to optimize block production for multi-BLS nodes.

In Q4, I focused on enhancing staking functionality and addressing critical protocol challenges. A significant part of my efforts was dedicated to investigating consensus-related issues, particularly a bug causing multiple block proposals. While the final resolution is still in progress, my thorough analysis clarified the problem's scope and outlined actionable next steps for resolving it.

To strengthen protocol stability, I rigorously tested and reviewed pull requests addressing post-HIP32 challenges. This included refining leader rotation logic and optimizing multi-BLS validator consensus mechanisms. Additionally, I updated the localnet to replicate mainnet conditions, uncovering critical edge cases such as consensus failures during single-node quorum scenarios.

Operationally, I worked on improving the network by developing and implementing scripts to identify anomalies in block production. My proactive collaboration with the validator community was instrumental in mitigating these issues, including a significant 12-minute shard 0 consensus loss. Detailed incident reporting and follow-up ensured transparency and informed future improvements.

Gheis Mohammadi

This quarter, I tackled several critical areas to improve network stability, performance, and decentralization. A lot of my focus was on addressing stream disconnectivity issues and enhancing the P2P layer. I optimized the way streams handle connections and refactored parts of the system to make error handling more resilient. Stream concurrency and lock management were improved, along with significant updates to the Staged Stream Sync module, making it more reliable and easier to maintain. I also added support for Trusted Nodes in the P2P host, enhancing the flexibility and security of the network.

Another big milestone was the successful HIP32 hardfork, which brought the network much closer to full decentralization. It was a proud moment to see the community and the infrastructure align for such a critical upgrade.

On the consensus side, I conducted an in-depth review of the leader rotation process, identified edge cases, and implemented fixes to improve reliability. I also addressed issues with multi-BLS validators, such as improving quorum calculations and fixing problems with multiple block proposals. These changes ensure smoother operations for validators and better overall performance.

Finally, I resolved a resource limitation issue impacting boot nodes, making them more efficient at handling traffic. Alongside this, I worked on adding capacity to support concurrent requests across streams and refined the P2P muxers for better performance. This quarter was all about solving major pain points and laying the groundwork for a more decentralized and reliable network.

Product & Tools

Yuriy Menkov

Development Pump.ONE contracts: the logic for the token factory, competition and liquidity manager is fully implemented. Implemented counting of investments, determining the winner and publishing on Uniswap v3. Additional logic has been developed for linking tokens to the competition ID: buying and selling is allowed only within the current competition - then the user can only convert his tokens into winner tokens, or publish on Uniswap if this token is the winner. Several integration tests have been developed. Contracts serve as the basis for the Pump.ONE application. Added integrations with API services and frontend client.

Developed Staking Vault contracts based on Erc-4626 with a Reward distributor contract. Additionally, the 1sDAI token was added to the bridge, which was integrated into the Staking Vault. Added logic for commission deduction, as well as rewards by epoch.

Also worked on the development of several new layerzero bridge features: integration with Solana (with the transition to LayerZero V2) - implemented draft only for the test network. Updating npm bridge packages and worked on bridge-cli for translations from the command line.

Artem Kolodko

This quarter, I focused on launching of Pump.ONE project, a memecoin marketplace on the Harmony chain.

While working on this project, I created various services: Pump.ONE client, backend(indexer + API service) and trading bot. During the development process I worked on the user interface, integration with smart contracts, end-to-end testing and improvements based on user feedback. In the backend app, I implemented mechanics to store token metadata, upload images, user authorization based on signed messages and JWT tokens, REST API and tokens indexer.

I've also implemented Harmony yield enhancer client, added new features for the new Harmony Explorer: ONE/ETH toggle persistent state, displaying transaction value at the time of transfer.

Frank Egloff

In Q4 2024, I developed a proprietary array-based bonding curve contract to address licensing constraints with Mint Club's contracts. The implementation included price calculation and token management functionality, with constructor-initialized stages and standardized curve stages across tokens. I built a Next.js client application with token listing, purchasing, and price calculation features. This work was initially planned for integration with 1.country for domain-based token creation and was later contributed to the pump.fun project.

I enhanced Harmony1Bot by integrating multiple AI models including xAI's Grok, Gemini 1.5, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and OpenAI's o1, while optimizing their command structures for better user interaction. I implemented a sliding window mechanism for infinite chat context and a session-based cleanup system. The bot's reliability improved through Sentry integration across all environments and telegram error notifications. I also developed a video processing system with semantic search and clip generation capabilities, evolving from MoviePy to an FFmpeg-based approach with subtitle handling features. Currently, I'm extending the harmony-llm-api with a JWT-based payment system for general-purpose usage, implementing prepaid user functionality with balance checks and model cost logic.

Alaina Furstenberg

This quarter, I focused on expanding content creation, enhancing co-marketing efforts, and boosting audience engagement. I learned Descript to produce videos for projects like ElonxCountry and JensenxCountry and explored new animation techniques by integrating Pika with MidJourney. Additionally, I manually animated graphics in Jitter for PumpONE and the crypto and AI newsletters. To support PumpONE, I joined weekly development syncs and contributed to writing disclaimers and documentation for its upcoming launch.

I led co-marketing campaigns with partners like Pear AI, Kings and Quests, ONE Show, Band Protocol, FlappyH1, RMC, CoinGecko, ElonxCountry, and HeyEddie, driving collaborative growth across platforms. Twitter performance grew significantly, reaching 953,000 impressions (+5%), 50,000 total engagements (+45%), 15.6K likes (+22%), and 3.1K reposts (+29%). I also wrote monthly newsletters showcasing team progress, community highlights, and founder insights. Using NotebookLM, I created AI podcast summaries of these updates, repurposing the content for YouTube and Substack.

Phillip Petzka

My first 2.5 months at Harmony were all about assessing the status Quo, analyzing the ecosystem for its strengths and weaknesses, and identifying a potential direction where to go from here. In terms of Defi, I developed the strategy to funnel returns offered outside of Harmony into our ecosystem. In addition, there are two user groups that we can target:

• New/non-native users who dont know about farming

• Power users able to deploy advanced strategies

All product developments will evolve around those two user groups.

Achieved so far:

• The treasury farms yield to distribute it to our products after potential strategies have been elaborated and assessed

• 1sDAI (11.5% APY) is deployed on Harmony

• The yield Enhancer product conception is ready and to be deployed (target is within December)

• Several product descriptions targeting more advanced strategies are ready (Lending Market, 1Swap Gauge)

Theo Perisic

I architected Harmony's DeFi suite expansion, focusing on accessibility and higher yields, delivering key products to new heights. Swap saw a 300% increase in TVL, and a 4,470% surge in trading volume. Lend followed a similar expansion, reaching a 250% increase in supply.

I led the Yield Enhancer development from strategy to implementation, building the frontend in typescript and coordinating ERC-4626 vault deployment. The first phase is live with 1sDAI, delivering 12.5% APY through Sky Protocol's yield-bearing stablecoin available within the Harmony ecosystem. I also pioneered Pump.ONE's innovative concentrated liquidity model with Stephen, optimizing for user collaboration over liquidity fragmentation. I drove the adoption of SimpleSwap, reaching 12.5% conversion rate and enabling seamless ONE acquisition across our ecosystem.

I also strengthened Harmony's market presence by securing Swap listings on DefiLlama and DexScreener, leading our recovery multisig custodian election, and driving community engagement through ONE Show presentations that reached 854 concurrent listeners and generated over 20k post views.

Sun Hyuk Ahn

This quarter, my main focus on enabling ERC-4337, account abstraction, on the Harmony network. Initially, I successfully developed and launched Stackup's Golang implementation of the bundler node, which successfully processed user operations on the Testnet. With the halt of Stackup's development, my goal transitioned to Pimlico's implementation of the bundler node, Alto.

I updated and implemented Harmony's node to simulate user operations to be in accordance to bundler functionality, eth_call. In addition, I successfully launched Alto on Harmony's Testnet and Mainnet. EntryPoint.sol, EntryPointSimulation.sol, and BaseAccount.sol were deployed in order to support to basic functionality of account abstraction, as well as bundlers. Along these necessities, Base's smart wallet contracts were fully launched in both network to support account asbtaction.

Rikako Hatoya

Over the past three months, I focused on implementing bonding curve token models and achieving millisecond-level precision in video transcription. I developed and tested smart contracts using linear, exponential, and sigmoid curves for dynamic token pricing, optimizing them for DeFi applications like liquidity provisioning and fundraising. To demonstrate their practicality, I deployed demos showcasing real-time price adjustments while ensuring gas efficiency and seamless blockchain integration.

On the transcription side, I built an automated pipeline with AI tools like Whisper, Deepgram, and AssemblyAI, achieving millisecond-aligned timestamps and enabling batch processing with speaker diarization for multi-speaker scenarios. Additionally, I explored the AI agent ecosystem, testing platforms like Virtuals Fun and Magick for character creation and investigating pump.one contracts to integrate AI and decentralized technologies effectively.

In the first week of November, FlappyH1 continued its weekly airdrops, while the first iteration of PumpONE was deployed with updates like user tagging and profile pages in development. The ONE Show returned, HIP-32 was successfully activated at epoch 2152, and ONE Bot advanced by integrating Luma.

1. Artem: pump.fun client update: added user tag and reply highlight, deployed demo update. Collected internal feedback from the team; started working on the user profile page with the list of purchased tokens.

2. Konstantin: I completed the final preparations for the HIP-32 update, which was successfully activated at epoch 2152 without major incidents. Following the update, my focus shifted to analyzing and troubleshooting issues reported by validators. The UpdateConsensusInformation method has been removed. Previously, calling this method before the finalCommit method could have resulted in undefined behavior or even a hard fork. Its removal reduces the likelihood of inadvertently triggering a clean state.

3. Frank: Integrated Luma into ONE Bot and resolved master branch conflicts. Implemented session-based cleanup logic with 3AM threshold timestamps - cleanup trigger executes once daily via needsCleanup method validation. Started reviewing Bonding Curve implementations from Aaron's shared repo for feature analysis.

This week, Kings and Quests began deploying contracts to Mainnet, and voting concluded for the RMC (Recovery Multisig Custodian) Elections. Swap went live on Coingecko, while critical progress in addressing shard 0 consensus issues and refining leader rotation mechanics underscored the team's commitment to network stability.

Harmony showcased significant progress this week, with Artem advancing the Pump.fun trading bot, Yuriy improving bridge functionality and DeFi integrations, Soph addressing multi-BLS key configurations to resolve HIP32 consensus challenges, and Phillip preparing the Harmony yield enhancer for launch while engaging with builders at DevCon SEA. 1. Artem: Started working on pumpfun trading bot: created initial project structure, added basic types. Added SimpleSwap widget, tokens search, updated header UI; deployed new verson of client.

2. Phillip: Last week was mostly occupied by DevCon SEA. I connected with many builders and particularly attended events of Base chain to talk with builders there and what they perceive as valuable in the ecosystem. Product-wise, Theo and I decided to launch the Harmony yield enhancer as soon as possible, optimally before the Christmas holidays. I prepared a wireframe + the final product description to be handed to the developers. On Tuesday, I met with Li to discuss the first treasury farming strategy (Buying JLP) and we discussed each step in detail. I also finished the first draft of the 1Swap Gauge product description.

3. Soph: To address the aftermath of the HIP32 issues, setting up a localnet with a multi-BLS key configuration became essential. For this purpose, a PR was created: #4793. During testing, an unexpected corner case was encountered where the consensus became stuck because the leader achieved quorum solely with its own BLS keys. After implementing a workaround to progress with the replication of the HIP32 issue, another complication arose: the leader is generating two concurrent proposals for the same block height, leading to signature verification failures.

This week, Gheis addressed consensus issues in multi-BLS key validators and submitted PRs for error handling, quorum consistency, and localnet optimizations, while Soph and Artem tackled bugs and trading strategy updates in Pump.fun. On the ecosystem front, Kilopi launched Phase 1 of Masters of Management, Kratos highlighted the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, Lend reached 44% utilization, and Stephen shared insights on the rising influence of podcasters in crypto.

Top 3 Team Progress:

1. Gheis: Finalized and merged PRs #4789 and #4801 while investigating a localnet issue where multi-BLS key validators cause network stalls during leader rotation. Documented block proposal logic and initiated team discussions to address inconsistencies in consensus logic. Submitted PRs #4805 (faucet key check), #4806 (quorum consistency), and #4807 (localnet block adjustments and Makefile optimizations) to resolve these challenges and enhance system stability.

2. Soph: The issue of consensus loss caused by two validators running on the same node is closely tied to the multiple block proposal bug. In the latest development branch, within a multi-BLS key setup where the next leader resides on the same node, multiple block proposals are generated for the same height. This results in a signature verification failure because the second proposal has a different block hash compared to the first. This bug currently obstructs testing of the next validator view change PR.

3. Artem: Completed simple trading strategy in pump.fun trading bot: buy and sell memecoin with random probability. Added trade implementation, started working on basic trading strategy. Client: improved trading notifications, added token price chart live update.

In Harmony's first week of October, KingsAndQuests announced their launch on Harmony, and Swap Country got listed on DeFiLlama. Harmony welcomed Philipp to the team, while Crypto Land DAO set new goals for community support and education.

On the tech side, Soph updated the total supply script to include staked ONE tokens, announced the HIP32 release to be October 31st, and resolved a block-skipping bug. Artem refined the 1Market demo, and Gheis fixed stream disconnectivity by updating P2P configurations, with a focus on improving Shard 1 block production.

1. Soph: This week, I refined the total supply script after discussions regarding how bridge-locked or wrapped of ONE Token are handled. I also fixed a bug that caused certain blocks to be skipped during indexing. Additionally, staked ONE tokens are now included in the calculation. The script is running again, although it’s taking longer to complete due to these updates. I also spent time reviewing and testing PRs aimed at progressing toward the HIP32 release. As a result, we've adjusted the planned HIP32 release date to October 31st, set to occur at epoch 2152 at 13:02 UTC.

2. Artem: launched new test market on 1Market demo; started working on fixes following 1Market review from Aaron.

3. Gheis: Over the past week, I continued working on issue #4789, which involves addressing stream disconnectivities. A series of tests were conducted to identify the root cause, and several improvements were implemented across key areas which are mentioned on my last week update. Despite the efforts, the issue persisted. I decided to revert recent commits one by one to trace the problem and eventually identified that the update on P2P Host's Muxers was the root cause. This led to the creation of PR #4764, which removes the use of the mplex muxer for localnet and configures it to exclusively use the Yamux muxer. This adjustment resolved stream disconnectivity issues in the localnet. During the tests, I also discovered an issue related to the retrieval of non-existent crosslinks. This prompted PR #4765, which introduces a validation check for the Crosslink Epoch before attempting retrieval, effectively preventing errors from attempting to access non-existent crosslinks. I am also actively working on PR #4762, which focuses on enhancing and refactoring the P2P stream layer. Although the changes have been promising, there is still an outstanding issue causing slowness in Shard 1 block production, which will be my main focus in the upcoming week.

In Harmony's second week of October, major progress included final steps toward 1-second finality, with Konstantin removing commission split changes and refining gas price tracking for ETH transactions. Theo secured a Swap listing on DexScreener, while Kilopi advanced its "Masters of Management" game. Rikako resolved CLI/go-sdk issues and created a Dune dashboard for Whalepool Orca analytics.

2. Konstantin: 1-second finality: Removed all related block signing and commission split changes. Submitted a new PR with no modifications. The 1-second finality will proceed without any commission split modification. Added effectiveGasPrice to ETH transaction version for GetTransactionReceipt and GetBlockReceipts API methods. Fixed the branch with lock acquisition to ensure it passes all tests. Reviewed release branch.

3. Theo: Successful Swap listing on DexScreener.

Key technical updates this week include the completion of the Grok model (xAI) integration within Harmony's backend and 1Bot, optimized command functionality, and enhancements to the BondingCurve dApp interface. The Harmony Ledger app testing continues, addressing environment issues, while protocol efforts tackled a devnet/testnet fork issue and updated the release to v2024.3.1. Progress on backup node removals, improved consensus monitoring, and a new, smaller SnapDB snapshot rounded out HIP32 preparations. RMC had it’s annual review as next year’s elections approach.

The problem seems to be caused by the leader committing a block hash but broadcasting a 0x0 hash to the network. We're continuing with further investigation and testing to fully confirm and resolve the issue. Lastly, the planned v2024.3.0 release has been updated to v2024.3.1 due to a deprecated GitHub action in our CI pipeline.

3. Ulad: For the backup nodes detection and communication with the validator community, main result - we have only 7 backup nodes(5 active) and all active confirmed removal and will do it during the next week - link to gist. On the protocol side, I was helping with the forking leader node issue and was able to reproduce it locally, sharing findings with the protocol team. On the ops side, I've finished developing a new monitoring for the getLastSigningPower RPC call implementation in the watchdog. Now we are using value from nodes majority, alarm has unique block ids and view change ids. Main advantage - less noise, more clue about when consensus loss happen. Additionally, on the ops side, I've created a fresh SnapDB snapshot - 3 times smaller as a part of HIP32 preparation.

Week of Oct 25th

This week, Binance announced its support for Harmony (ONE) network upgrades and hard forks, adding vital institutional backing. Kings NFT Marketplace also announced its launch on Harmony, while the team successfully integrated the xAI API, unlocking new AI possibilities.

On the development side, Soph led testing efforts for the 0x0 hash bug fix and 1-second finality in localnet, while working on signature collection issues. Streamsync improvements sped up node initialization, and Sun tackled transaction tracing challenges in shard 0. Additionally, Artem advanced pump.fun, deploying its backend with features like token tracking, daily winner calculations, and APIs for comments and tokens.

1. Soph: This week, I reviewed and tested multiple PRs. For the 0x0 hash bug fix PR, the PR only addressed the streamsync syncing method, while the issue also impacts the DNS sync method. Additionally, I tested the 1-second finality PR in localnet, which revealed issues with signature collection as soon as the 1-second epoch block occurs. Lastly, I reviewed and tested two streamsync improvement PRs(1 and 2), which have shown positive outcomes in localnet, including a faster start to the sync process when nodes initialize.

2. Sun: 2024-10-28 Mon: trace_transaction in shard 0 is disabled due to the heavy load it is processing, however found out that it is allowed through shard 1's RPC (in localnet case). The internal information for transaction is listed. There exist a pattern but theere is no set way to determine the contract address from the internal transaction infromation. Other chains retrieves it using Viem's getContarctAddress(which in our chain, returns a null). The prominent solution is to manually find out the contract addresses, as they are deterministically deployed, and ensure the addresses is included in the internal transaction details.

3. Artem: prepared pump.fun backend and deployed on fly.io. Current features: tracking of the new tokens, calculating winner by trading amount every day, API for comments and tokens. Discussed details with Yuriy, started working on pump.fun client app.

October 2024 marked a transformative month for Harmony. Technical milestones include improvements in block production and supply script updates and 1-second finality development and the successful integration of xAI onto ONE Bot. Community involvement soared with projects like Kings and Quests, Crypto Land DAO, FlappyH1, & Kilopi continuing development. The protocol's decentralization strengthened significantly the HIP 32 upgrade, while the DeFi ecosystem flourished with new listings on DeFiLlama and DexScreener.

Harmony continued building on Human Protocol, an initiative that envisions generative AI as a source of both news and cultural content, distributed across Telegram and YouTube, to engage a global crypto audience. In Q3, Harmony reached several key protocol milestones, including progress toward 1-second block finality, upgrading to Go 1.22, and enhancing node monitoring through improved RPC servers. While HIP32 leader rotation experienced delays due to validator challenges, the team successfully deployed major updates like P2P improvements and stability fixes. Additionally, the integration of perpetual trading progressed, with GMX v1 adding new liquidity services, Synthetix V2 being fully ported, and development of 1Market, inspired by Gnosis Conditional Tokens, getting underway.

Added the effectiveGasPrice field to the getTransactionReceipt method to maintain compatibility with Ethereum. Completed the implementation of 1-second block finality, significantly improving transaction confirmation speeds. Finalized a new commission split mechanism to support 1-second finality and a 67% vote power threshold.

With Ulad and Soph, updated to Go version 1.22. Go 1.22 provides improvements in the crypto package, updates to the latest package versions and enhanced performance. Enabled the epoch chain to broadcast the epoch block, reducing other shards' epoch block synchronization time to up to 2 seconds. Implemented broadcasting of vote power along with view change signature info, improving observability of nodes.

Soph Neou

During Q3, my work primarily focused on addressing critical technical issues and preparing key protocol upgrades for Harmony. A major part of my efforts revolved around the HIP32 leader rotation feature, which was deployed on both devnet and testnet but surfaced issues when tested with external validators. This led to a significant shift in focus towards troubleshooting, reviewing, and testing multiple pull requests to replicate the instability, alongside improving internal logging and monitoring for better issue detection. The challenges encountered pushed back the HIP32 hard fork timeline, with the release now tentatively scheduled for mid-October.

Additionally, I managed several releases, including the mainnet stable v2024.2.0, which introduced P2P improvements and the Go 1.22.5 update. I played a pivotal role in troubleshooting node issues during deployment and ensuring the stability of our localnet with external validators. Beyond technical work, I collaborated with the team to outline objectives for upcoming quarters and supported key community engagements, including facilitating the reopening of BEP2 ONE deposits with Binance and assisting users with staking and node operation issues.

Gheis Mohammadi

This quarter, I worked on a wide range of tasks, from boot node functionality to fixing issues and enhancements. At the start of Q3, we successfully addressed some of the most pressing issues with boot nodes, stabilizing them after dealing with recurring connectivity problems. This early success set the stage for further improvements throughout the quarter. One of the major accomplishments was PR #4735, where I introduced an RPC server for boot nodes. This was a huge change, bringing significant improvements to our ability to monitor boot nodes. Previously, boot nodes had no way to expose metadata or provide visibility into connected peers, making it difficult to diagnose and optimize their performance. By adding several new APIs, we now have much better tracking and debugging capabilities for boot nodes. Additionally, I refactored the codebase to separate boot node from Harmony node, making the system more modular and maintainable.

For awhile I worked on errors in crosslink processing. We were dealing with race conditions and missing database keys that were causing instability and database lookup failures. By improving error handling and refactoring the process for managing pending crosslinks, I was able to resolve these issues and reduce unnecessary database lookups. Beyond the major features and bug fixes, I took on several refactoring tasks, including removing unused configurations and functions, optimizing test cases, and ensuring that localnet scripts were functioning as expected. I also updated Go version of the Harmony Go-SDK to 1.22.5, making sure it remained compatible with the latest Harmony binary. At the end of Q3 I started investigating the root cause of stream removal issues. We had noticed that streams were being unexpectedly removed whenever the getCurrentNumber request failed, which was affecting overall system performance.

Yuriy Menkov

Improvements and adding new features for GMX v1 to Harmony. New services added: price keeper, position keeper and watcher service (to disable keeper in case of setting incorrect prices). Completed interface on adding liquidity and purchasing GXP tokens. Integration with UniswapV3Oracles as first price feed has been implemented. Added services for collecting statistics on price changing and displaying prices on charts in ux. Fixed texts and interface errors. Added support for stable coins on creating long and short positions. Documentation on deploying the system and adding new tokens was prepared. Security audit of contracts and keepers service for the basic version has been completed.

Started work on integrating new features into the current gmx ecosystem: autocompounding vaults - explored the possibility of partial migration of functionality using the example of the morphex project, in the end I decided to deploy all morphex contracts in their entirety, but ran into the problem of integrating their contracts with the basic version of the gmx interface.

Artem Kolodko

Developed a port of Synthetix V2 and beginning work on 1Market, a Polymarket analog. I successfully completed the porting of Synthetix v2 which included deploy scripts, contracts and a new client. During the work I solved many difficulties at each stage of the complex 200 contract files on-chain and refactored the oracle feeds, some of which had to be rewritten due to unavailability of Chainlink used in the original system. At the moment, we have a sy.country client, deployed contracts on Harmony Mainnet, and a 1SY / 1USDC pair available to trade on swap.country.

I've also started work on 1Market. After studying the original code sources available on github, I decided not to make a Polymarket fork, as some parts of the system are not available including client application, order book. Instead, for the initial version, I used the Gnosis Conditional Tokens demo as a basis, contracts from which are also used in Polymarket. At the moment I'm working on adapting the demo client to our network and creating a more attractive interface that can be used for initial demo as well as in the final product.

Frank Egloff

I deployed Vertex contracts on Harmony mainnet and testnet, developed a MockSequencer contract, PerpetualFactory for contract creation, enhanced PerpOracle, and created OrderBook contract and OrderBookFactory. To address the lack of Harmony-specific components, I developed a harmonyClient module for mock calls while working on porting API calls. Despite implementing logging events for MatchOrderAMM transactions across various contracts to aid debugging, challenges persisted with processing both MatchOrderAMM and SwapAMM transactions.

For Harmony1Bot (1Bot), I introduced a /broadcast command for sending Harmony updates to all users and groups, enhanced the /help command to display recent broadcasts, and upgraded VoiceMemo to generate transcriptions for forwarded voice notes. The LlmModelManager class was refactored to accommodate new AI models, including OpenAI's o1-preview and Claude's Sonnet 3.5. New /o1 and /models commands were implemented to improve user interaction with various AI models. I developed a workaround for Telegram's message size limit and enhanced error logging. We migrated 1Bot's database to a new cluster, resolving persistent restart issues. For 1.country, I enabled paid-in-advance domain rental functionality, enhancing the platform's capabilities and offering users more flexible payment options. Also, I added a /subdomains command to Harmony1Bot, allowing admin users to enable subdomains for given domains (among other commands). This integration improves the accessibility and management of 1.country services through the bot interface, streamlining the user experience and bridging multiple Harmony services.

Alaina Furstenberg

This quarter was focused on key marketing campaigns, partnerships, designing graphics, and competitor testing. I led co-marketing campaigns for Three Sigma, Footprint Data, Another World, Blockscout, Protofire RPC, Layer Zero, Travala, Kings and Quests, ONE Show, 1UtilityDAO, Flappyh1, Open Ocean, #cryptoisboring with Band Protocol, harmonycommunity.one and internal projects like Core Protocol Syncs, Hod1, .country, Human Protocol, GX.Country, TGI Podcasts, 1bot, and 1Market. These campaigns generated 833,000 impressions and raised engagement by 5% from last quarter, reaching a total engagement rate of 4%.

I also revised the 1bot user guide and actively assisted with onboarding community members. I worked 1-on-1 with users, guiding them through the process of purchasing ONE and utilizing 1bot, while keeping them engaged in the ONE Bot Love group. Additionally, I tested competitor products like Hamster Kombat, Polymarket, and Pump.fun to contribute insights, questions, and commentary for our 2025 Roadmap.

I secured Swap integration with OpenOcean, a leading DEX aggregator with $20B+ in trading volume and 1.2M+ active users. I also released a Perpetual article with the ThreeSigma Team, incorporating advanced liquidity provider token mechanisms and competitive fee structures, projected to increase trading volume.

I completed comprehensive ecosystem reports to major exchanges, showcasing 45 unique applications built on Harmony. Additionally, I created a dedicated Harmony DeFi group to streamline ecosystem liquidity, project promotion, and user experience. I also prepared for Recovery Multisig Custodian (RMC) elections, creating a year-in-review document with elections planned for Q4, while coordinating the resolution of .country domain issues, resolving the Colossus bug bounty reward, and integrating SimpleSwap to allow seamless cross chain navigation to Harmony with a 0.4% minimum fee collection.

Sun Hyuk Ahn

I deployed the Panoptic protocol on Harmony and developed a CLI to interact with the associated smart contracts. This CLI leverages Solidity scripts to deploy Panoptic pools and manage position minting and burning. It also supports the deployment of Uniswap V3 pools, which serve as the liquidity provider for the Panoptic pools. Additionally, I implemented a Panoptic subgraph using The Graph protocol to track positions created through Panoptic contracts. The subgraph monitors minted, burned, and rolled positions, while also keeping a record of liquidations and force-exercised positions to ensure comprehensive tracking of all position-related activities.

In parallel, I conducted research into account abstraction (ERC-4337) and evaluated multiple bundler implementations, including Eth-finitism, Stackup, Alto, Rulder, and Voltaire. After comparison, I selected Stackup's Golang implementation as the most stable, given its full compliance with the compatibility test suite—a criterion many other bundlers fail to meet. I successfully deployed a bundler that supports ERC-4337 account abstraction, fully configured for Harmony nodes. This work will continue into Q4, with plans to deploy paymasters and integrate EIP-3074 for sponsored transactions and account delegations, paving the way for the launch of smart wallets, including Base and Timeless wallets.

Rikako Hatoya

In Q3, my primary focus was on replicating our GMX fork, testing various Telegram Mini Apps and prediction markets, and most notably, developing the Hod1 Telegram Bot (@HarmonySocialBot). The initial phase of Hod1 involved building a Telegram bot for lottery trains by implementing smart contracts and designing the user interface on Telegram. Over time, I transitioned the Hod1 app from a chat-based interface to a full-fledged Telegram Mini App, replacing the lottery trains with an incentivized reward-based system.

I developed the front-end UI using React and JavaScript components tailored specifically for the Telegram Mini App environment, deploying it to Netlify. Key features I implemented include a leaderboard page, a social login system (YouTube subscription verification using OAuth), a reward system for watching videos from our YouTube playlist, and a referral system that incentivizes user growth by awarding points for referring new users. On the backend, I created and deployed a REST API and server on Heroku to manage user data, such as points, watched videos, and task completion, as well as retrieving user rankings. Additionally, I explored and tested various prediction market platforms, including Polymarket, Gnosis, and TON, for potential integration with the Harmony blockchain.
